CDP's newest product
offers tremendous savings for paper burdened professional firms via Web
Archiving.
Imaging and indexing.
CDP maintains two imaging sites (NJ and NY) equipped with Kodak 923D
and Bell & Howell scanners driven by Pentium-powered PCs. Images are
stored on a Hewlett Packard optical storage jukebox using Feith Document
Management and Imaging System software.
Documents of almost
any size and shape can be scanned and automatically indexed. Multiple
criteria are used for indexing a tremendous advantage over storing
paper documents, which does not allow for the kind of cross-referencing
that is built into computer indexing.
Convenience, Speed
and Security. In many firms, document retrieval is dependent on a
clerical staff which is only available during normal business hours. With
Web Archiving, CDP subscribers can retrieve documents over the Internet
at any hour of the day or night with a standard Web browser.
Documents can be retrieved in seconds.
Once documents are
scanned, they cannot be altered and it is this feature which makes
these images acceptable by courts of law. The CDP system uses WORM (Write
Once, Read Many) technology.
CDP stores backups on optical disks in a secure location.
Remote Image Retrieval via Web Archive is a new way of thinking about
document storage, but CDP anticipates it will become an industry standard.
It makes perfect sense economically, it is extremely efficient, and provides
much greater security.
